9.10.22 - Kaitlin & Josh - Private Estate Wedding
This beautiful private estate wedding took place at bride Kaitlin’s home on a sunny Saturday in early September. Both sides of the couple’s wedding party spent time in the morning relaxing, getting ready, and exchanging gifts.
Makeup by Nikoletta’s team did an incredible job helping Kaitlin and her girls get wedding ready before they each slipped into their dark green dresses of varying styles and Kaitlin got into hers.
Kaitlin looked absolutely radiant, with a strapless, fit and flare dress with a ruffle detail on the bottom. She chose a beautiful jewelry set, with gold sparkly earrings and a necklace to match, and to top it all off, had personalized Converse with the words “Mrs Josh,” her soon-to-be title, embroidered on the back :)
The couple’s outdoor ceremony took place in the backyard of the home, with beautiful padded dark wood crossback chairs rented from Party Party Event Rentals in Forest Hill, Maryland.
Before it was time to walk down the aisle, Kaitlin shared a private first look with her dad and it was so very sweet.
A small team of live musicians started to play as the ceremony began. Kaitlin was walked down by her dad and met Josh at a gorgeous pergola built by her father, adorned with green and white florals.
With the bride’s sister officiating, the couple shared personal vows they had written with one another before saying their ‘I Dos’ and recessing to ‘Wedding March’ by Mendelssohn.
While the wedding party and some family members went to take photos with Brooke of BrookeLynn Photography in front of the house, guests were treated to food and refreshments by Lib’s Catering for cocktail hour.
They could also use this time to drop off any cards or gifts for the couple and participate in their ‘photo guestbook’ - using the provided instant camera to snap a photo of themselves to then add it to the guestbook with a little message for Kaitlin and Josh to look through later on.
With chairs from the ceremony moved over under their rented tent, the reception was soon under way. Guests found their seats with the help of an ornate vintage mirror acting as a seating chart that had name tags attached with wax seals.
Kaitlin and Josh really wanted to bring a unique flair to their reception space with a collection of antique china at each place setting, and gold, vintage-inspired decor placed throughout. The three primary colors their design revolved around were blush, cream, and green, and along with the dishware, each tablescape was made up of a cheesecloth runner, vases of varying size with florals, votive candles, and personalized jam jars for each guest to take home as a favor.
The couple shared their first dance as husband and wife to the song ‘In Bloom’ by Strurgill Simpson and then took a seat at their eclectically decorated sweetheart table.
After a buffet dinner and a fun round of the ‘Newlywed Game,’ Josh’s Best Man and Kaitlin’s Maid of Honor got up to give their speeches, each full of funny and heartfelt moments.
The couple then danced with their parents and opened up the dance floor to the rest of those in attendance.
This was such a beautiful day filled with so much love and we couldn’t be more thankful to have been there to experience it :)
Cheers to Mr. and Mrs. Robertson!
