Our Year in Review - 2024

Looking back at the past year, if we were to think of one word to describe the 2024 wedding season, it would be *special.*

To name just a few special moments from this year…

  • We had the privilege of working with a couple whose wedding was the very first at a newly established venue!

  • One of our associate planners, Lily, had a wedding take place at the venue she first began her journey in the wedding industry at.

  • Our very own Alicia, owner of Fancy Fox Events, married the love of her life, getting to experience a wedding in a whole new way ❤️

As we enter into 2025, we wanted to take you through each of the weddings we were so blessed to be a part of last year, sharing some of our favorite photos from each and what we enjoyed most from the day!

Alicia & Josh / Vignon Manor Farm / 08.10.24

On a warm sunny day in August, the first Fancy Fox wedding of the season was a big one, as we got to celebrate our very own Alicia and her partner Josh!

It was incredibly meaningful to not only be a part of this wedding, but to see such an important person in our lives get to live out her happily ever after with the man of her dreams :)

Alicia put so much thought and detail into the planning of her and Josh’s special day, and everything turned out so beautiful!

With pops of pink, orange, and blue flowing between the couples’ florals, tablescape decor, and guests’ attire, a playlist full of Taylor Swift classics (Alicia’s favorite artist), and a gorgeous sunset over the venue’s rolling green hills, it was the picture-perfect summer wedding and one we’ll hold dear for years to come.

Lily’s Favorite Moments

Some of my favorite moments throughout Alicia and Josh’s day were of course all of the little details that came together so beautifully, seeing their ceremony space fully setup, arch and all, guests dancing with a slew of fun props at the end of the night, (glow sticks, bandanas, cowboy hats, etc.) and above all, getting to see Alicia enjoy her day as the bride. After years of helping so many couples bring their dreams to life, it was finally time for hers, and it was an absolute honor to be there and be a part of it :)

Alicia’s Favorite Moments

After putting on my wedding dress and doing first looks with my girls and then my dad, I did a first look with Josh. This moment was very intimate and intentional… we shared our personal vows, which made us both laugh, and cry. Once it was time for the ceremony, my nerves started to hit me a little. Waiting in line for the processional with my dad, I started getting so antsy and excited that I was bouncing my legs uncontrollably! The next moment lives in my head rent-free…. the curtains opened, and everyone stood up and looked at me. I am used to this moment as a wedding planner, but normally, I don’t know the faces that are staring back at me. Being able to look at each and every single person’s face and know that these people were there to celebrate with us made me very emotional.

Erika & Nick / Antrim 1844 / 10.26.24

Our next wedding, in October, was a very sweet one, getting to witness two of Alicia’s old friends tie the knot!

Erika and Nick held their festivities at the stunning Antrim 1844, a venue full of so much character and charm.

The couple’s fall-inspired color scheme was very unique to them and may be one of our all-time favorites!

While their wedding party may have been one of the largest we’ve seen thus far, it was so great to see just how many people loved them and were there to support them in their marriage!

Alicia’s Favorite Moments

I had a few favorite moments from Erika and Nick’s wedding day. Since I met Erika at the University of Delaware years ago, when we all did a group UD photo together during the wedding, it really did come full circle and made me smile. My absolute favorite moment of the night though was after all of the guests left the reception, the couple had a private last dance. It was just them enjoying the final moments of their wedding, the photographer capturing photos, and me capturing it in video on the bride’s phone. I was sobbing behind that phone because it was just such a beautiful moment.

Lily’s Favorite Moments

Erika and Nick’s wedding was such a treat to be a part of! I think a couple of moments that stood out to me specifically were ones during the reception. Shortly after dinner, Nick’s sister got up to give a speech that was as equally funny as it was touching. She talked about sweet memories made over the years with her brother, things she learned from him growing up, and so lovingly welcomed Erika into their family. A little later in the evening, following a father/daughter dance with her dad, Erika also chose to do a surprise special dance with her mom and stepdad as well! It was so heartwarming to see the bond Erika had with all of them - I don’t think there was a dry eye in the whole place!

Claire & Nick / Coon Den Manor / 11.09.24

Just a couple of weeks after Erika and Nick’s wedding, we got to celebrate another Nick and his wonderful partner Claire at the Coon Den Manor in Delaware!

What made this wedding extra special is that it was actually the very first to take place at this venue, as it was newly established in the industry as of 2024!

Maria DeForrest

After a beautiful ceremony at a nearby Catholic church, the couple and their guests made their way over to the venue’s picturesque property to continue the festivities!

Getting to spend the day with Claire and Nick’s wonderful family was really the highlight of my day. The bride’s sister was matron of honor and had 4 kids. Their toddler was having some trouble staying quiet during the service, so we had our own little adventure in the lobby of the church. Him and I played with flowers, ran around, and sang songs. It made me so happy that I was able to help out the family, while also making this little kid smile and have some fun. Later in the night, he was introduced into the reception dressed in an airman’s suit, with a toy plane and the song from Top Gun playing. It was absolutely adorable!!

Lily’s Favorite Moments

Without having previously known Claire and Nick, or meeting them personally before their big day, the love they have for one another was so very evident during their wedding, and the care they showed their family and friends was extremely sweet to see! I think what made my heart the happiest was seeing their guests truly celebrating them from beginning to end - notably, during their sparkler sendoff. It was a pretty chilly night, and sometimes, it’s common for guests to leave a little early in conditions like that. However, many people stayed throughout the entirety of the event and cheered just as loud for them (as they made their grand exit to the getaway car) as they did earlier in the day :)

Carenna & Jamie / Bohemia Overlook / 12.07.24

The second weekend in December, we got to be a part of a truly magical and cozy Christmas-themed wedding for Fancy Fox couple Carenna and Jamie!

From top to bottom, this wedding screamed ‘the holidays,’ with touches of red and green throughout, an ornament guestbook, Christmas-inspired signature drinks and a special version of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You” playing as Carenna made her way down the aisle.

As mentioned earlier, this wedding took place at the beautiful Bohemia Overlook, where Lily from Fancy Fox had actually worked for about 3 and half years leading up to this day!

It’s hard to nail down what I loved most about this wedding, as there were so many amazing moments! Helping Carenna with her veil before lining everyone up for the ceremony was a memory I’ll always cherish, and watching her and Jamie play the ‘Newlywed Game’ during their reception was a hoot! I think what takes the cake for me though was seeing Jamie do a special dance with his daughter. The smile never left his face as they danced, and it was the sweetest thing ever. They ended the night with a ‘snow exit’ using a fake snow machine! It was a first for Fancy Fox Events but so much fun :)

Laura & Max / Loews Hotel / 12.31.24

Our final wedding of the season, for Laura and Max, was one like we’ve never done before!

Not only was it on the very top floor of the Loews Hotel in downtown Philly with a stunning view of the city, but it was on New Year’s Eve, making it even more of a celebration!

There were so many meaningful contributions and details embedded throughout this day, and it was truly such a joy to get to experience alongside the couple and their guests!

Alicia’s Favorite Moments

I have to be a little stereotypical here and say that my favorite moment from this wedding day was the New Year’s Eve countdown. We passed out glow sticks, ‘2025’ sunglasses, party horns, and headbands, to get the guests prepped, and the Loews Hotel catering staff was also sure to do a champagne toast! Once the countdown started, the energy in the room was electric. 3… 2… 1… and then, fireworks all over the city went off! It was absolutely stunning.

Lily’s Favorite Moments

Laura and Max’s wedding was a blast! They are two of the kindest, most down-to-earth people we’ve had the pleasure of helping, and the way they feel about each other couldn’t just be ~seen~ on their wedding day, it was so clearly *felt* as well. One thing I loved was the intentionality behind the use of red roses. Laura’s engagement ring from Max features a red rose, and while their main floral color scheme was composed mostly of whites and greens, they made sure to include the red in her bouquet and in his boutonnière! This was also a Jewish wedding meaning we got to see the couple and many of their guests take part in the Hora, which was such a delight!
